Not sure which way to go? The free in-home water test settles it — we measure hardness, chlorine, TDS and more, then recommend only what your water needs.
01 The problem

West Texas water is hard on more than your coffee.

Lubbock County sits on some of the hardest water in Texas. City supply adds chlorine or chloramine; private wells bring sediment, iron and sulfur. Here's what that's quietly doing to your home.

Minerals

Scale & buildup

Chalky crust on faucets and glass — and a hidden layer inside your water heater, pipes and coffee maker.

Dryness

Dry skin & hair

Hard water and chlorine strip natural oils, leaving skin itchy, hair brittle, and soap that never rinses clean.

Chlorine

Taste & odor

A chlorine bite, a metallic edge, or the rotten-egg smell of sulfur — straight out of the kitchen faucet.

Wear

Shorter appliance life

Scale makes water heaters, dishwashers and washers work harder — and replace themselves years early.

Residue

Spots & film

Cloudy dishes, streaky glassware, stiff towels — the residue hard water leaves on everything it touches.

Cost

Bottled-water spend

Case after case of bottled water, hauled home every week — when the tap could taste just as good.

02 The outcome

What changes the day it's installed.

A properly sized system is something you feel immediately — in the shower, at the sink, and on your next utility bill.

  • Softer water for gentler skin, hair and laundry
  • No more chlorine taste or sulfur smell at the tap
  • Less scale, so appliances and plumbing last longer
  • Spot-free dishes and glassware, softer towels
  • Great-tasting drinking water without the bottles
  • Soap, shampoo and detergent go further

contaminants in the Lubbock Public Water System exceed EWG's health guidelines — while still meeting federal legal limits.

Serves 275,000+ people · surface water source · utility testing data 2021–2023, compiled by the Environmental Working Group.

See what's in Lubbock's tap water.

We think you should see the numbers before you spend a dollar. The Environmental Working Group publishes state testing results for every U.S. utility. For Lubbock, the flags are mostly chlorination byproducts, plus arsenic, chromium-6, nitrate and uranium.

  • Total trihalomethanes105× guideline
  • Haloacetic acids223× guideline
  • Arsenic489× guideline
  • Chromium-647× guideline

EWG's own filter guidance lists reverse osmosis as the most effective option for the Lubbock system — reducing all 16 flagged contaminants.

All figures shown are within federal legal limits. Legal limits for many contaminants have not been updated in roughly 20 years. Source: EWG Tap Water Database (ewg.org) — figures reflect EWG's most recent compilation and may change.

Questions

Common questions.

How much does a system cost?

Every home's water is different, so we don't quote from a price list. After a free in-home water test we give you a transparent, itemized quote for the system your water calls for — no pressure to decide on the spot.

Is the water test really free?

Yes. We test hardness, chlorine, TDS, iron and more right at your kitchen sink, explain what we find, and leave you with the results whether or not you buy anything.

Do you handle both city water and well water?

We do. Our City Water Dual Tank is built for Lubbock municipal supply; our Well Water Dual Tank adds Katalox Light to handle sediment, iron and sulfur odor common on private wells.

Do your systems use salt?

The softening stage uses salt to regenerate the resin. If you only need sediment and particulate filtration, our Whole Home Water Filter is completely salt-free and drain-free.

How long does installation take?

Most whole-home installations are finished in a few hours. An under-sink reverse osmosis drinking water system is usually done in under an hour.

What maintenance is involved?

Our dual-tank systems are largely self-cleaning and backflush automatically. Reverse osmosis drinking water filters are replaced periodically — we'll remind you and can take care of it for you.

What does the warranty cover?

A lifetime warranty on system dry parts, 5 years on the control valve, circuit board and filtration media, and 1 year on installation labor. The full statement is on our warranty page.
